Deep Journey - Real-time Mandelbrot Viewer

Ever since it was first described and visualized in the 70s and 80s, the Mandelbrot set has been an obsession of mathematicians and fractal enthusiasts alike. The set is generated by repeated use of a very simple mathematical equation, yet images of it are intricately beautiful in a way that one would not imagine.

Deep Journey provides a smooth, beautiful interactive experience of the Mandelbrot set. In-app lessons give a guided tour of the set, explaining many of its mathematical properties along the way. Zoom is possible to a factor of 10,000,000,000,000 (10 trillion), at which point the original image becomes about the size of Jupiters orbit around the Sun.
